U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Application Systems Administrator (multiple openings) in Charlotte, NC.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Application Systems Administrator (multiple openings) is responsible for supporting the installation, configuration, and maintenance of purchased applications or application frameworks. This role participates in the design configuration, problem diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of application systems and/or user group profiles. In addition, this position validates system functionality after changes and performs cybersecurity analytics.

Specific duties include: (1) participate in testing and installing new software releases and application system upgrades; (2) analyze, monitor, and fine-tune the application system to achieve optimum performance levels; (3) work with internal infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve issues with hardware and software; (4) maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation to ensure data integrity; (5) participate with application system problem resolution by working with application developers, vendors and internal infrastructure team members to troubleshoot; (6) work with System administration involving Core Splunk and Enterprise Security; (7) administer Splunk in a large, distributed infrastructure; (8) design and support distributed clustered Splunk infrastructure for both On-Prem and SaaS implementations; (9) work with log ingest across multiple technologies and formats; (10) utilize knowledge of Python, and development of complex log ingestion; (11) develop, test and deploy new Splunk agent packages for log delivery to the new AWS environment; (12) utilize knowledge of IT service, change and problem management; (13) construct advanced reports, dashboards, and alerts using Splunk and operationalize these capabilities with documentation in the form of standard operating procedures; and (14) automate Splunk manual operations using GitHub, and Ansible to drive and improve accountability This position will work with Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk Observability, Open Telemetry, Docker, Kubernetes, and CIM modeling.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Technology Management, or Computer Science and 3 years of related experience in cybersecurity analytics. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Technology Management, or Computer Science and 5 years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) cybersecurity analytics experience.

Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) developing, testing, and deploying new Splunk agent packages for log delivery to the new AWS environment; (2) constructing advanced reports, dashboards, and alerts using Splunk and operationalize these capabilities with documentation in the form of standard operating procedures; (3) automating Splunk manual operations using GitHub, and Ansible to drive and improve accountability; (4) working with System administration involving Core Splunk and Enterprise Security; and (5) working with Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk Observability, Open Telemetry, Docker, Kubernetes, and CIM modeling. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master’s program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $126,464 - $ 159,400. (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
