Assistant, Operations Meal Bank employees are responsible for boarding and responding to airline customer requests to provide additional meals, support items, equipment and products to ensure the flight is catered to specifications.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Checks galleys as needed to ensure cart, carriers and support items are placed in the correct positions on the aircraft
  • Responds to customer service request from Dispatch to investigate customer complaints and service inquiries
  • Coordinates distribution of equipment to Unit from jet ways back to the Unit
  • Ensures proper inventory of equipment and support items in the meal bank rooms to supply products as needed
  • Checks specified flights, as designated to ensure the flights were catered on time and to specification
  • Maintains radio contact with Operations during the shift
  • Assists in gate and aircraft changes to ensure the products are transferred in a timely manner to avoid flight delays
  • Communicates specific flight catering deficiencies to the Unit operations to ensure these are corrected going forward

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Work Experience:

  • In-Flight catering experience is highly desired, or experience in a customer service environment

Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent time management skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass DMV verification process
  • Must maintain AOA Badge and Custom Seal

Language / Communication Skills:

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Work Environment / Requirements of the Job:

  • Regularly stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves frequently during shift
  • There may be physical discomfort due to temperature and noise on the AOA and aircraft
  • Ability to lift, pushes, pulls or maneuvers 15-25 lbs.
