The Staff Cloud Engineer will be a technical subject matter expert and individual contributor accountable for leading the organizational transformation in onboarding various data consumption and business intelligence tools into Google Cloud. You will contribute to ensuring cloud tool enablement, solutioning, and implementation are successful by being an expert in Google Cloud security, networking, access management, and authentication best practices.

 

The Staff Cloud Engineer will:

  • Lead the onboarding and enablement of tools; covering design, cloud architecture, and best practices.
  • Create and propose cloud engineering solution concepts related to tool enablement which cover topics spanning Google Cloud security, networking, access, and authentication best practices.
  • Act as a cloud generalist for all topics related to tool enablement and strategy.
  • Partner and work with the enterprise cloud engineering group to ensure proposed solutions meet existing policy requirements and best practices.
  • Propose solutions which are accepted by the enterprise cloud security, networking, and IAM groups.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure solutions are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Proof of Concept activities for new tools and new patterns involved with tool enablement.
  • Keep up to date with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the organization's cloud tool ecosystem.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track record with at least 7 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
  • 5+ years leading solution architecture initiatives, working in public clouds.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Cloud Associate or Professional Certification
  • Strong understanding of best practices and available methods related to security, networking, and connectivity interplay within and across public clouds.
  • Ability to create clear and concise solution concept diagrams which are easy to communicate and understand.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to provide cutting edge cloud engineering solutions for cloud tools.
  • Excellent general communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, data science, or a related field. Master's degree or Ph. D. preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$136,217.50 - $267,800.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
