SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Commodity Manager focusing on (Out-Sourced Assembly and Test) is responsible for deploying a mid- to long term strategic packaging and Test sourcing plan, partnered with Operations, Finance, Packaging and Test Engineering, Quality, and Business Units. This position is also responsible for subcon relationship management, market trend interpretation for management decision making process, OSAT cost modeling, and co-chair the business review meetings with subcon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deploy the cost effective and feasible mid- to long term assembly and Test sourcing strategy to provide Allegro the best value solution (partner with Technology Development) with growth opportunity.

  • Support the business model of make vs buy decision

  • Provide market, industry, and vendor information with intelligence to management for sourcing decisions

  • Support the assembly should be cost model, co-develop the internal end to end product costing model for New Product gross profit margin calculation

  • Co-Chair the Strategic Business Meetings (SBR’s) with subcons and the owner of the responsible subcon score cards with other groups’ inputs

  • Support the cross-functional quarterly OSAT steering committee meeting to help management frame the strategic plan provides the most cost-effective solution for Allegro’s current and future needs

  • Subcon relationship management

  • Drive Subcon contract/ capacity/pricing negotiation and ensure execution carried out as planned

  • Subcon capacity and performance management

  • Cost reduction initiatives and planning

  • Host and coordinate vendor visits

  • Translate strategic sourcing decisions into a win-win business plan with OSAT partners.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of prior semiconductor packaging and testing sourcing experience or related work required

  • BS degree in Engineering, MBA preferred

  • Ability to work with technical team on make vs buy, and down selecting factories in the most cost-effective methodology with a long-term solution mindset

  • Ability to lead internal and external teams to develop and deliver the OSAT strategic plan

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational ability to drive and work with cross functional/ cultural organizations to achieve the common goals

  • Ability to turn technical information into business languages or vice versa to ensure cross-functional teams moving towards the common goal

  • Ability to interpret capacity information at equipment level

  • Demonstrated ability to work with subcons or internal factories on new package requirement pricing information

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills required

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications

  • Continuous business process improvement to efficiently improve Allegro’s profitability

  • Proactively manage business interruption to maximize Allegro’s revenue

  • Work with all parties to maximize dual source capability with the least amount of effort wherever possible

  • Ability to write up executive summaries

  • Proactively manage potential business interruption to maximize Allegro’s revenue

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Packaging and or Testing operations experience a plus

  • Automotive experience a plus
