Job Summary

As the Operations Manager at our Indianapolis Bakery Plant, you will be accountable for the daily operations of plant production departments, including production planning, implementing standard work and maintaining improvement through sustaining behaviors and implementing autonomous maintenance. Reporting to the Plant manager, you will organize the production departments to ensure production goals are met.

How Will You Affect our Business?

  • You will implement our plant-specific mission to assure continuous improvement and lead the Autonomous Manufacturing Development (AMD) Pillar
  • You will lead production supervisors, production managers and the maintenance manager on their roles and responsibilities throughout the day, giving prioritization guidance on daily responsibilities.
  • You will build the capabilities of the Line Structure team members through validation on Step Up Cards.
  • Your team will oversee the Daily Direction Setting system health and metrics.
  • You will promote employee engagement and development to maximize safety, manufacturing, quality and productivity goal completion.
  • You will collaborate directly with production planning and materials management to maintain scheduled goals and customer service.
  • You will collaborate with finance to create a capital budget to ensure that financial allocations and obligations are set, administered, and met.
  • You will initiate cost savings measures relating to crewing, standards, and yield.

Do You Have What it Takes?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Product Operations, or equivalent field of study is required
  • 5 years of Manufacturing experience
  • 3 years Management / Supervisory experience
  • Food industry experience in a union environment
