Our Fort Hills Team is looking for an experienced operations professional to over see safety of our operations and lead a dynamic team of Tailings operators!

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of supervisory experience in an Oil Sands Mine, Tailings or Drainage/Dewatering team
  • Outstanding supervisory/leadership skills: ability to hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
  • Developed communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, mentoring and people management skills
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • A zero-tolerance for shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it

Responsibilities:

  • Lead your team in accordance with weekly plans, policies and procedures
  • Lead and deliver daily toolbox talks and end-of-shift communications with your team
  • Provide input into the development of the 2-week mine, tailings & drainage plans, ensuring operational stewardship through the active periods
  • Collaborate with operations peers, maintenance and fixed plant teams
  • Contribute to the development and revisions of area specific policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with our technical groups (process engineering, geotechnical, and planning)

Location and Other Details:

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • You will work out of our camp-based Fort Hills mining site, located in Alberta’s Athabasca region, 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Initially the shift schedule will be a 4 on 3 off (M – Th) schedule and will eventually transition to a shift schedule of 7 days on /7 days off rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 12-hour shifts)
