Job Description

The role is responsible for transitioning processes into functional shared services or developing shared services teams under the Finance Service Delivery Tower at Manulife Business Processing Services (“MBPS”). The Finance Shared Services Change Manager (“FSSCM”) will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify shared services opportunities through analysis of process inventories.
  • Drive standardization within a functional value stream across delivery channels which includes drafting of key operating procedures and job aids.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to integrate automation into standardized process designs to improve scalability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Project manage and drive the transformation into a shared services operating model for process/teams in scope.
  • Ensure that quality and efficiency benefits are materialized when pivoting into shared services model.
  • Program governance and crafting of project dashboards for weekly status updates to key stakeholders of the Finance Shared Services initiatives.

The role reports to Service Delivery Business Program and Metrics Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Identify shared services opportunities through analysis of process inventories.
  • Drive standardization within a functional value stream across delivery channels which includes drafting of key operating procedures and job aids.
  • Collaborate with automation teams to integrate automation into standardized process designs to improve scalability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Project manage and drive the transformation into a shared services operating model for process/teams in scope.
  • Ensure that quality and efficiency benefits are materialized when pivoting into shared services model.
  • Program governance and crafting of project dashboards for weekly status updates to key stakeholders of the Finance Shared Services initiatives.
  • Define success measures for each initiative and contribution toward the overall shared services program
  • Actively engage with stakeholders to understand business expectations, priorities, and requirements
  • Effectively mitigates business and operational risk resulting from change
  • Ensure robust change management practices are adhered to
  • Serves as a change agent and leads organizational, process and people change efforts associated with achieving business objectives
  • Assists colleagues in shaping solutions through changes in strategy, organization, or business process solutions using critical thinking
  • Partner with various work stream leads to generate innovative solutions.
  • Participates in strategic business planning activities and helps translate to business initiatives

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of project/program management experience using leading methodologies and processes
  • Transitions Management experience in a service outsourcing environment
  • Transformation Project Management Experience in a financial services company
  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with senior officers and representatives
  • University degree in accounting, finance, business management, or computer science.
  • Six Sigma or Project Management Certification is a plus.
  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office Suite includes Power Point, MS Project, Excel, Word, One Note
  • Execution-oriented with strong focus to deliver targeted outcomes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills. Demonstrates initiative and confidence to make sound judgement calls.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of building a business case for potential process and/or procedure solutions and completes cost/benefit analysis as support.
  • Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
  • Participates in educational opportunities; reads professional publications; maintains networks and participates in professional organization to always be up to date on job knowledge.
