Water RecyclingBioresources Delivery Manager  

Circa £68,500- depending on skills and experience + company car/car allowance 

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours a week + occasional management standby 

Location: Hybrid- home, main offices and 10 Water Recycling Centres across the region as required 

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. What will you be doing?  

You are responsible for ensuring delivery of an annual production plan and the assurance it is effective across our Renewable Energy and Water Recycling Centres in the Anglian Water region. You will enable our site teams to operate at the very highest standards of safety and achieve the environmental  

 

In this role you will be working closely with site teams to achieve 24/7 operation at the 10 largest Water Recycling Centres in Anglian Water to meet all safety standards and environmental permits, ensuring process is not compromised by the need to deliver renewable energy. You will ensure delivery of Regulatory compliance (IED, iGAS, BG01) through leadership of your three Technical Managers and be the owner of our Risk Visualisation and Management Toolkits. 

 

This role is crucial to our mission of protecting the environment through wastewater treatment and producing renewable energy and high-quality bioresource products. These efforts support our goals for Circular Economy, Sustainability, and Net Zero. We are looking for a dynamic leader, who thrives on leading a team and possesses exceptional communication skills to effectively liaise with various teams. 

 

Duties will include: 

  • Enable daily delivery of effective water recycling operations on our 10 largest Water Recycling Centres by delivering against our safety and regulatory permits 

  • Manage the interface between effective wastewater treatment and sludge treatment whilst maximising treated sludge throughput, gas and power output at our 10 Sludge Treatment Centres 

  • Proactively manage our compliance position to meet the Environmental Performance Assessment 4 star status 

  • Support and enable operational teams to achieve sustainable energy generation from our STC assets  

  • Drive continuous improvement at our 10 largest STC/WRAs to enable delivery of our AMP7 and AMP8 efficiency targets using LEAN and Six Sigma where appropriate. 

  • Support the Bioresources Operations Managers, Maintenance Managers and Technical  Managers in their active management duties to enhance the quality of work undertaken by operational/support teams; including ensuring suitable resource levels maintained at all times. 

 

What does it take to be a Bioresources Delivery Manager? 

  • Experienced in the wastewater and sludge treatment industry in operations or maintenance at a management level 

  • Relevant health and safety qualification e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, Process Safety 

  • Experience managing incidents 

  • Experience managing leaders and technical experts 

  • Experience in financial decision making and budget management 

  • Experience in the Management of Health and Safety. 

  • Technical knowledge of advanced digestion processes including Cambi and HPH 

  • Technical knowledge of sludge treatment and wastewater treatment especially activated sludge and similar technology
