Job Description:
The Accounting Manager is a crucial figure within our organization, overseeing various financial aspects that are central to our success. This role involves maintaining meticulous financial records, reports, and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. The Accounting Manager actively manages budgets, offering insights to optimize financial performance, and plays a key role in bookkeeping for consolidated reporting, enhancing transparency for informed decision-making. Moreover, they contribute to strategic growth by participating in acquisitions and business integrations, leveraging financial expertise to identify opportunities for expansion. Leadership is also a core component, as the Accounting Manager provides guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering a high-performance work environment. Additional responsibilities encompass financial analysis, regulatory compliance, process improvement, risk management, and effective communication with stakeholders. In summary, this role is instrumental in maintaining our financial health and promoting accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout all financial operations.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:15am to 5:00pm

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or finance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Strong working knowledge of software programs (specifically Excel and Microsoft Dynamics GP), with query reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong financial acumen
Supportive and helpful attitude
Ability to adapt to new processes and be flexible in day-to-day operations
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Lead the month-end financial close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and Balance Sheet analysis.
Prepare journal entries, worksheets, reconciliations, and other documentation to ensure that transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
Assists with developing and maintaining standardized financial policies and procedures.
Review monthly Management Company financial statements in collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Ensure accuracy of all general ledger entries and reconciliations.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts. Calculate and analyze multiple reserve balances and propose adjusting entries.
Support in external audit including preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
Prepare, submit, and report operational tax liabilities such as Sales & Use and Commercial Activity Tax.
Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data, including technical accounting guidance and the company’s accounting policies.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Coach and support direct reports, establishing goals and objective for each year and monitor and advises on the progress to enhance the professional development.
Proactively seek opportunities to implement process improvements, systems, and workflows to allow accounting infrastructure to scale up.
Help identify synergies that may be realized across various locations and in new acquisitions.
Support Controller on special projects, process improvements, system implementations, as directed.
