Overview:
Medication Delivery and Vascular Care (MDVC) is a platform within the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business unit with sales revenue exceeding $1.9 billion dollars globally. The Vascular Prep business provides support to clinicians and patients who insert, care for and maintain IV lines.
BD ChloraPrep, StatLock and GuardIVa are a key part of the Vascular Care business and are a key growth driver for MDS. These products are an important component of the insertion, care and maintenance of vascular access devices and play a critical role for hospitals and patients in preventing infection. The Vascular Prep portfolio includes a broad portfolio of skin prep, securement and dressing solutions that are sold in over 50 countries.
This Director role is accountable for leading the Vascular Prep businesses. They will be responsible for the achievement of key strategic marketing objectives including, but not limited to, building the business globally by upgrading practice to capture the significant headroom, developing competitive plans to grow in existing markets, acting as a marketing lead for driving key new product initiatives, serving as a liaison to regional marketing counterparts and meeting/exceeding global revenue targets. This role will be responsible for directly managing and developing two direct reports and three marketing associates.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides strategic direction to drive the business. This includes globally assessing the competitive landscape, identifying and employing key points of difference based on customer needs and developing strategic plans to drive growth of the business.
Leads development of education tools, programs, training and budget impact models for upgrading practice globally.
Identifies strategic and tactical marketing opportunities and develops communication programs and executional tools in key core focus markets that will drive share growth. This includes applying and activating principles of customer segmentation, targeting, value proposition development and pricing strategy.
Acts as a liaison to the regions, ensuring marketing plans deliver against the global strategy and drive achievement of revenue targets within the region in order to meet and exceed targets.
Responsible for driving key innovation and sustaining projects through development and commercial processes by leading cross functional teams. Works with teams to ensure timely execution and meeting of key deliverables. Includes working with country/region marketers. Work includes providing insights and oversight to voice of customer, developing pricing strategies and cases and leading commercial launch excellence.
Identifies innovation opportunities for the businesses to drive future growth based on market dynamics and unmet customer/clinical needs.
Leads market models to identify and monitor key growth opportunities globally. Works closely with regions to update and analyze data to identify trends.
Leads tender management in key regions which involves working with countries and regions to identify upcoming tenders and ensure they align with the platform strategy.
Responsible for Demand Governance to ensure consistent supply and capacity planning. Serves as key liaison with all regions to deeply understand demand and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Leads long-term demand planning through strong collaboration with the regions, supply chain and operations to ensure appropriate representation of the long-term demand needs of the business.
Manages market research activities to develop fact-based customer insights.
Manages, coaches and develops three direct reports.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product and/or Marketing Management in the life sciences industry with a consistent track-record of high performance and results
Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training and business development.
Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
Experience in identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, completing competitive analysis, developing pricing strategies, preparing for product launch and commercialization, and developing go to market models and strategies.
Proven critical thinking capability including strong customer focus, needs identification and value proposition development. Proven analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing and business strategies and plans.
Experience with innovation process and driving innovation projects/initiatives.
Ability to use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and identify ways to optimize project timelines and to mitigate project risks/delays.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Proven ability to work in high-paced environment and routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
Ability to develop comprehensive cases with detailed financial analysis.
Committed with demonstrated ability to get results.
Exhibits effective communication and interpersonal skills and can work internationally with diverse cultures. Previous experience working with international team members a plus.
Highly effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence that have resulted in positive relationship building (particularly global), with the ability to work in a matrixed organization and to influence without authority.
Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills.
High integrity and ethics and strong fit with BD values.
Job Specific Requirements:
