Job Overview

 

We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Cloud (Azure) Technical Lead, responsible for driving and contributing to the research, design, documentation, and modification of Cloud Infrastructure throughout its production life cycle. The ideal candidate will provide optimal technical solutions across the Azure Infrastructure platforms stack, possessing detailed knowledge and implementation skills of Azure Patterns, Design, and Migration best practices. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 
  • End-to-end ownership of IT cloud solutions,  from design to maintenance,  for clients within an agile development lifecycle.

  • Ensure we have up to date documentation on existing cloud services and integrations.

  • Provide Steer and direction to 3rd line support teams (MSP) for ticket resolution.

  • Management of the primary cloud platform (Azure), including; planning, design, implementation, testing, and process improvement.

  • Develop high-quality, efficient, IaaS and PaaS components to meet business requirements and in accordance with industry best practices.

  • Develop solutions in response to complex business requirements, and where necessary support in defining requirements, for Cloud related projects and initiatives. 

  • Generate statistics and prepare reports for management on cloud consumption and trend forecasting.

 

Mandatory Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Services, Windows/ Linux platform.

  • In depth knowledge with Azure architectures, operations and implementations.

  • In depth knowledge of the Azure computing platform, its many services and dimensions of scalability including but not limited to: 

  • Experience working with Automation tools, Cloud management tools

  • Knowledge of federated authentication and authorization models

 

Required industry experience:

  • Professional experience in designing cloud-based services across a large enterprise and diverse environment. We would expect at least 6 years’ experience but may consider candidates with less depending on their skills and knowledge. 

  • Extensive experience showing transition from operations into design on Azure Services Design and Implementations 

 

Technical experience

  • In depth knowledge of load balancing and firewall technologies.

  • Demonstrated experience, training or certification with a major Public Cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform etc.

  • Develop and manage Azure Compute engine (VM, App Service, Azure Container Services etc).

  • Configuration and changes to firewalls, Express Route.

  • Configuration and changes to Storage, Database, Replication, Backup, DR and migration.

  • Provide expert technical recommendations for resilience and reliability.

  • Provide support for system modification via automated change management system.

  • Maintain proficiency with industry best practices in IT Security, Integration.

  • Related scripts to automate all manual tasks plus streamline operational activities.

  • Evaluate and recommend necessary changes in performance tuning, infrastructure design and monitoring.

  • Conduct long range strategic plans of IT infrastructure plus operational aspects of application execution within infrastructure.

  • Handle organisation-wide windows-based application projects of complex to ensure applications optimal performance and related infrastructure.

  • Execute application-level SSL plus configure mutual validation for back-end system communication.

  • Support install applications for system production and test to ensure maximum support through applying best practices.

  • Execute technology successfully by minimal downtime as well as disruption.

  • Provide a general framework plus environment to assist Cloud partners to and maintain activities.

  • Advanced SQL and database skills
