Job Description:

This role is responsible for leading asset protection initiatives and investigating matters pertaining to inventory shrink, policy violations, fraud, and internal/external theft within assigned geographical area. Conduct internal and external investigations and complete appropriate reports and documentation. Assist with maintenance of security systems. In addition, is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to recognize shrink trends and resolve company shrink/compliance/liability issues.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Implement, maintain and enforce Asset Protection strategies and programs including shrink reduction and other asset protection programs, policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough investigations to final disposition and maintain accurate and detailed case files.
  • Hire, train and develop non-exempt Asset Protection associates.
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit, Operations and other internal departments as well as outside contacts/law enforcement agencies as appropriate, while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Identify potential shrink opportunities through effective analysis and utilization of systems, on-site location visits, assessments, and exception-based and other reporting; initiate and plan investigations to resolve company shrink /liability issues and/or assist in implementation of shrink reduction programs.
  • Assure the maintenance, administration and setup of security controls and systems occurs as needed (i.e., Alarm, CCTV, Card Access, Key Control, Theft Deterrent Fixtures).
  • Work closely with third party vendors and contractors to ensure proper implementation of Company policy, procedures and specifications.
  • Represent the company and testify within the judicial system for theft/prosecution cases as needed.
  • Participate in the design of and implement innovative Asset Protection programs
  • Promote the Asset Protection culture and awareness by conducting associate training and education on the core strategies for mitigating theft and shrink.
  • Train and coach associates to ensure effective execution of core department initiatives.
  • Identify and report operational deficiencies related to department and company initiatives.
  • Provide Asset Protection services to independent customers as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best Asset Protection practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required) in Business, Law Enforcement, or another related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Certified Forensic Interviewer (Preferred), Loss Prevention Certified (Preferred), Wicklander- Zulawski Certification (Preferred).
  • Four years' experience in asset protection, preferably in retail operations in a multi-store format.
  • Knowledge of POS applications, CCTV use and installation related applications, and knowledge of civil and criminal retail theft laws.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include investigation/interviewing experience.
  • Ability to build working relationships with internal associates and external contacts (vendors, law enforcement agencies, etc.).
  • Must have strong investigative and analytical skills to analyze and interpret statistical data.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide creative input to achieve better results; thinks outside the box.
  • Seeks out personal and professional development opportunities through education and/or certification.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (7 days a week availability).
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.
