Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform site surveys in order to engineer, furnish and Install (EF&I) equipment in a Data Center or Central Office environment.
  • Develop documents including Engineer Packages, MOP's (Method of Procedure), Cut-sheets and BOM's (Bill of Materials) for installation projects.
  • Act as customer contact for installation services of equipment nationwide and direct installation forces on equipment installation and second level support.
  • Develop and submit RFQ (Request for Quote) for customer projects and provide LOE and equipment lists for projects.
  • Work with Sales Managers and Project Mangers to develop quotes and pricing models for customer projects.
  • Develop scoping documents including Installation Scope, BOM (Bill of Materials) and hours required for installation.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the material ordering and receiving processes for material orders
  • Must have detailed knowledge about equipment types such as Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel, Netscout, HP, Dell, Fujitsu, and etc.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of data cabling, AC/DC power, cable racking and auxiliary framing.
  • Must have detailed knowledge of customer Engineering and Installation procedures, standards and quality requirements to include TP76300, GR1275, NSTD119 as well as various other customer standard guidelines.
  • Performs work in central office spaces understanding the requirements and policies working in a live system environment
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of time

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication engineering, computer science or related technology field and 10 years’ experience in supporting and implementing Network Routing, Switching and Security products or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Cisco, Aruba, and or Juniper Professional Level Network Certifications
  • Proven experience supporting LAN, WAN, SD-WAN implementations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in contemporary network technology including knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/ IP, STP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP4, IS-IS IPv6, QoS, MPLS, VPN, DMVPN and VoIP
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and Internet standards including excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Cisco routers and switches (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR, Meraki) IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS
  • Juniper Firewalls, routers, and switches (MX, EX, SRX)
  • Aruba/HPE switching (Procurve or CX)
  • SD-WAN experience with Silverpeek, Versa, Viptela, VeloCloud is a plus
  • Advanced Leaf/Spine Architecture experience is a plus
  • Cisco DNAC with SD Access capability is a plus
  • AWS, Azure, GCP cloud platform experience is a plus
  • Experience with Dell and or Arista Switching Platforms is a plus
  • Experience with peer technologies such as Firewalls, Load Balancers, ISE, Clearpass is a plus
  • Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear.
