We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead teams of credit risk professionals in addressing our client’s credit risk mitigation needs.  Engagements will encompass a broad range of credit risk-related matters and may include the following: credit risk review or loan review work, credit administration and policy review, quality assurance/ internal audits of loan review departments, and other credit risk specific engagements.     

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide subject-matter expertise in credit risk mitigation strategies and credit policies - analyzing credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money or extending credit.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and communicate leading credit risk management practices.

  • Effectively manage, motivate and mentor multidisciplinary teams to work as a cohesive, client-centric unit in delivering high-quality solutions to sophisticated clients

  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously.

  • Actively contribute to internal initiatives related to talent, practice, and business development.

  • Leverage experience and expertise to recruit and retain future leaders of the firm through mentorship that focuses on advancing the professional aspirations and skills of your colleagues

  • Model the core RSM values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship in all interactions with clients and team members

  • Be proactive in your personal development in areas such as industry expertise, technical specializations, and leadership to drive expansive personal value to our people and our clients

  • Focus on developing your network and personal brand in the marketplace to drive growth for the overall risk consulting practice; including: identifying and securing new opportunities

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk-related positions, such as commercial loan officer, credit officer, portfolio manager, or financial institutions regulatory agency.

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation creation tools.

  • Job-relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CPA, CRC, BAI Loan Review Certification).

  • Ability to travel to meet client needs.

  • Established experience in multiple lending industries or subject-matter expertise in one specific industry.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Underwriting, lending, or regulatory experience related to large regional or national financial institutions or foreign banking organizations (FBOs).

  • Knowledge of syndicated transactions, shared national credits, and highly leveraged transactions.

  • Understanding of credit processes ranging from origination to credit policy and procedures, and risk rating methodology.

  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state banking laws related to credit risk.

  • Prior consulting experience or progressive responsibilities, including supervising and reviewing work of others.

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $86,100 - $162,800

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
