What you will be doing?    

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will act primarily as managerial support to enable an efficient and effective operational area, delivering the Water Recycling Operations operational tactical plans whilst maintaining compliance and excellent customer service. Working closely with the embedded Alliances and local delivery teams, you will ensure that all activities are undertaken with an environmental and customer focus, and efficiently delivered. You will ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Anglian Water’s Health and Safety policy and comply with health and safety legislation, POSWASTE and QA procedures.  

Key tasks include:     

  • This role is a key role across our organisation, supporting effective management of our teams 
  • Working collaboratively both across the business unit and wider organisation to help the business achieve its goals and priorities  
  • Ensure day to day performance management of your team to ensure efficient delivery whilst maintaining appropriate safety and quality standards 
  • Promote the efficient and effective delivery of all work in your area 
  • Assist with the Health & Safety of all employees, contractors, visitors and public by the review of safety plans 
  • Act as a local role model for behavioural safety and show leadership to the team 
  • Our people should be at the forefront of your thinking both in terms of their Health Safety and Wellbeing and the importance of our LIFE culture 
  • Develop employees by active coaching in the workplace to ensure compliance with safety, service and quality standards at optimum cost 
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities by and for others in accordance with the relevant legislation 

  

               

What does it take to be an Operations Support Manager?     

  • ICT Literate in various programmes and adaptable to new systems 
  • Ability to adapt to changes in accordance with business strategy 
  • Working knowledge of the Water Industry 
  • Health and safety qualification to a minimum IOSH level (desirable) 
  • Ability to assess risks and make significant operational decisions with incomplete information 
  • Ability to adapt, challenge and change 
  • Ability to think strategically 
  • Proactive and forward looking  
  • Available for operational managerial standby (estimated 12 weekly rotations)  
  • Full driving licence
