As the Public Safety Supply Assistant and Quartermaster, you will ensure that Police, Fire and Rescue and Public Safety Communications uniforms, equipment, and materials are in stock and available for employees.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors inventory levels of uniforms, equipment and other items for Police, Fire and Rescue and Public Safety Communications to ensure stock is available and in good working order, as needed. Checks quantities of items in storage against inventory count documents.
Serves as Contracting Officer’s Technical representative (COTR) for uniforms, and other designated items for Public Safety; orders all required uniforms and equipment through the appropriate requisition processes. Coordinates with vendors, obtains quotes, and orders required supplies, equipment, uniforms, and gear.
Oversees department equipment and supplies, handling procurement, allocation, and maintenance, including tracking assignments and locations.
Assists administrative staff with equipment and supply budget management. Coordinates equipment testing and evaluations for potential purchase or replacements.
Assists in the evaluation of products and supplies for all of police, fire, dispatch, and other department personal. Ensures accurate documentation is properly uploaded, entered, and reconciled in Workday.
Reconciles the Uniform P-Card in compliance with established Airports Authority guidelines and within budget.
Receives and picks up warehouse items, and non-stock Purchase Order items; Assists in unloading delivery trucks and inspects and verifies items against packing slips and purchase orders and enters relevant information into the automated system; unpacks, sorts and stores items in assigned locations, to ensure items are securely and efficiently stored.
Ensures location and stock number labels are correctly affixed and readable.
Receives and bar codes property items as identified by the Property Control Officer.
Issues warehouse stock items, deliveries, or processes pickup of items to users, obtaining authorized signatures. Maintains warehouse documentation.
Addresses inquiries about order status and backlogged items and resolves minor discrepancies with vendors; escalates major issues to purchasing agents; prepares shipments to vendors for return or maintenance.
Plans and schedules delivery of items and/or materials/parts needed for emergency repairs.
Orders, stocks, creates, and maintains the forms used by the department for uniform and equipment.
Communicates and maintains working relationships with others in carrying out job information.
Frequently interacts with vendors to exchange detailed and or technical information.
Reports potentially unsafe conditions and takes necessary corrective actions or notifies the responsible supervisor or safety representative.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
One year of progressively responsible experience in the receipt, storage, or issuance of materials from a centralized stock inventory and/or warehouse.
Baseline knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to determine proper methods of storage, assign locations to new items, conduct, and maintain physical inventories, and process materials and equipment.
Baseline knowledge of and ability to perform basic procurement and budgeting functions.
Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information and make recommendations.
Skill in using a computer and modern office suite software and stock and inventories software.
Knowledge of OSHA rules and safety regulations.
Ability to speak and write effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a first responder or military inventory setting.
EDUCATION
A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Education Development (GED).
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A state driver’s license in good standing.
NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS
Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
Work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion (lifting objects up to 50 pounds). May bend, stoop, crouch, and work in a cramped position.
A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
