Product Marketing Manager is responsible & accountable for end to end ownership of the Channels business in Johnson Controls India. This includes defining the short term and long term strategy for the Business, owning the current product portfolio and defining the future roadmap, identifying customer needs and creating a differentiated offering with strong value proposition to serve these needs while ensuring high ROI for the business, working with global engineering, sourcing & quality assurance teams to ensure on-time, on-cost NPIs, defining the market positioning, pricing & target segments for the portfolio, developing sales & channel competencies to ensure sales volumes, drive revenue and gross margin as per defined targets.

Product Marketing Manager will work closely with sales team, technical team, customers and channel partners and will be the face of the business to internal and external world.

We are looking for a self-driven, pro-active, mature marketing professional with strong technical, functional skills to take challenges head on, have the right mix of strategic thinking and tactical execution skills to grow the business faster than market, profitably. The candidate should be willing to work with diverse & large cross-functional teams spread across India and should have strong logical & influencing skills supported by meticulous planning & execution rigour.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Define & own the Product and Technology roadmap for the entire portfolio. Have a strong sales & customer connect to analyse market needs and technology trends to create on-time, on-cost differentiated offerings that earn significant ROI for the business.

Carry out Make vs Buy decisions for NPI development. Liaison with Engineering, Sourcing, QA teams to execute NPIs. Meet 100% say/do ratio on all NPIs. Align with Regional & Global counterparts for cross-learning and roadmap alignment.

End to end brand ownership and product lifecycle management (product phase-in/out, demand planning). Ensure portfolio is always relevant to the market with optimal brand mix to ensure all target segments are served profitably with minimal conflict and cannibalization.

Drive Pricing impact - Value New/Replacement projects via NPIs, Discount management, Cost pass through to protect margins.

Sales, channel and customer competency development through trainings and Marcom activities to ensure highly trained and motivated force behind the business. Plan and execute sales & channel incentive programs & schemes to drive volumes. Track win/loss and take corrective actions as and when required.

Lead competition intelligence and business analysis to drive the Strategies which includes identifying high-opportunity profitable markets, adjacencies, and/or segments, go to market strategies etc.

Implement marketing strategies aligned with the strategic plan. Align functional plans with the strategic plan.

Integrate inputs to develop distinctive product plans with outstanding financial outcomes; be competent in microeconomics, finance, VOC, research and analysis and basic marketing toolkit [market definition and sizing, segmentation, value management, targeting and positioning, pricing].

Well versed with MS Office; Familiarity with CRM programs (e.g. SFDC)

QUALIFICATIONS:

B. Tech or B.E from a reputed Institute; MBA preferred

Work experience of 5-8 years with 3-5 years in relevant HVAC, BMS, VRF industry

Customer facing experience in Technology/Solutions businesses is preferred

Marketing experience in segmentation, value pricing, new offering development is valuable

Results driven track record – proven ability to translate strategies into action and results
