The Business Services Recruiting Assistant in the Houston, Texas office will support day-to-day recruiting activities for Business Services personnel within the US including professionals in the Marketing and Business Development, Information Technology, Accounting and Finance, People and Development, Compliance, Client Value and Innovation, eDiscovery, Administration, and Legal Support teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and highly organized, with previous recruiting experience. This position reports to the Manager, Business Services Recruiting. The team has the ability to work remotely, but presence in the office is required from time to time pursuant to the firm’s hybrid work policy. 

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Review resumes of active candidates, source passive candidates via LinkedIn and/or cold calls and pipeline active/passive candidates for future opportunities 
  • Conduct initial phone screens and provide candidate summaries and status reports to lead recruiter
  • Coordinate interview logistics, including calendar appointments, conference room reservations, confirmation emails and candidate communications
  • Enter data in the applicant tracking system (ATS), including applicant status, correspondence tracking, interview tracking, interview feedback and documents 
  • Conduct research for upcoming recruitment, including similar positions in competitor firms, salary benchmarks and saturation of candidate pool in order to manage expectations on timeline and level of difficulty to fill 
  • Work closely with human resources and hiring managers to draft job descriptions 
  • Contact previous employers to verify employment and personal references for reference checks 
  • Submit third-party background checks 
  • Process recruiting expenses, including placement fees and temporary fees

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills; both written and oral 
  • Highly organized and exhibit a strong attention to detail 
  • Demonstrate good judgment and accountability for delivering excellent service 
  • Previous experience with Workday or a similar ATS is preferred 
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential 
  • Professionalism, personal integrity and high degree of confidentiality 
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment, including the ability to prioritize 
  • Flexibility to work extra hours as dictated by the demands of the role 
  • Advanced user in Microsoft Office and strong computer and technical skills
