Job Summary

The Software Embedded Engineer will design, develop, test, and document a variety of projects that can include embedded software for medical devices and other complex electro-mechanical/electro-optical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software/firmware written in C and C++
• Debug problems requiring a sub-systems-level understanding of a product
• Rapid development of software for proof-of-concept including board bring-up, operating system bring-up, and device driver development may be needed
• Willingness to learn and an enthusiastic attitude

Education, Experience, and Skills

• B.S./M.S. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
• Have prior internship experience and/or 1-2 years experience in highly interdisciplinary teams, including direct interaction with scientists and/or systems engineers. Some candidates with less experience and a proven track record are also considered
• Demonstrated knowledge in two or more of the following: Embedded, User experience, Mobile, imaging, control systems, signal processing, aerospace
• Experience with real-time operating systems, Linux, bare metal operating systems
• Experience writing application software for Windows/Linux/iOS/Android highly desirable
• Knowledgeable and experienced in multiple software development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodology a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Proven problem solving skills
• Some scripting language helpful
• Experience with multiple computer scenarios
• One or more of the following is a plus: Matlab, MathCad, Labview

The annual salary range for jobs which are performed in US, California is $105,000 to $110,000. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies and work location.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which requires working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and 1-day of your choice. In certain circumstances the hybrid work model may change to accommodate business needs.
