What you'll do...

Operations Manager, Parcel Station Start-Up

As an experienced Project Manager, you are responsible for ensuring parcel stations are launched on target coordinating work of different teams and stakeholders. This role supports the expansion of Walmart’s delivery network and is responsible for operational launch success by leading and influencing teams of business partners and technical stakeholders across a matrix organization. In addition, you will drive long term business strategy through standardization within our network.

Successful candidates will be natural self-starters with an established Project Management foundation and have experience managing large projects on accelerated schedules. You are capable of leading and mentoring project engineers, technical specialists and project managers in coordinating risks & opportunities on time and quality. You are happy to interface, drive and support both cross-functional teams, subject-matter experts and individuals at all levels both inside and outside of reporting lines of the organization.

A day in the life...

You will plan and execute the business case that delivers operational parcel stations. Your day could include engagement with all levels of the organization to agree strategy, attend the site and own its development from a greenfield to a fully functioning station, plan and manage resources to execute activities which you have detailed in an end-2-end schedule. You will make decisions on behalf of the business and see the outcome of these come to fruition through coordination of stakeholders, both internal and third party, and finally celebrating in the successful launch of the facility!

Location: This position will be based in Bentonville, AR with 50% of the time traveling throughout the U.S.

Schedule: Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays

You’ll make an impact by…

  • Doing end-to-end ownership for ops start-up/launch project deliverables.
  • Integrating project scheduling, resource planning, critical path analysis and scheduling optimization of all business, technical, fiscal and program activities across multiple projects.
  • Being comfortable in different roles and able to effectively communicate & work with subject matter experts in Construction, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, Transportation or Contract law.
  • Coordinating multiple interdependent material flow and installation schedules of vendors.
  • Working alongside vendors and procurement departments to manage purchase orders.
  • Holding regular cadence with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables.
  • Working on continuous project status tracking and communication, targeted and timely elevation of potential risks and issues across multiple teams and with project stakeholders.
  • Working independently and autonomously in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

You’ll sweep us off our feet if…

  • You can effectively manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet organizational capacity needs.
  • You have the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and jump in if needed, along with managing.
  • You have experience managing installation of technical equipment and Operations ramp-up management.
  • You have experience in a delivery station environment and knowledgeable in material handling equipment such as pallet racking, conveyors, and forklifts, etc.
  • You can work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • You have previous experience in process design/optimization or supply chain optimization.
  • You are a certified in Project Management (PMP, Prince2, or other).
  • You have experience in launching new facilities (including equipment deployment and management of all related processes).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • You have experience in launching new facilities (including equipment deployment and management of all related processes)
  • Experience in project management and implementation with proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation
  • Experience leading and interacting with cross-functional teams
  • Management of infrastructure projects
  • Management, coaching and development of teams, and project resources
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50%
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project

Additional Job Elements:

  • Lift and move up to 49 pounds each
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation.
  • Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, gangways safely and without limitation

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00
