Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Manager Supply Chain 2 to join our team serving as the lead critical supplier manager for the Naval and Oceanic Systems (N&OS) Business Unit. The Manager will support multiple Operating Units overseeing critical suppliers and commodities for the programs to ensure on-time delivery of conforming material.  Supplier Management is responsible for leading teams to successful performance of critical suppliers, through implementation of proactive supplier management and Return to Green execution.  We are looking for a team player who is capable of developing solutions by understanding stakeholder needs and supplier risks, tirelessly driving supplier accountability, and effectively communicating status of challenges and opportunities to cross functional program teams.  This position can be worked full time remote (preference is on the east coast) or from Sykesville, MD with an expectation of immediate travel to supplier(s) or NG location(s) as necessary.

Responsibilities:

- Leads and oversees Supplier Management Teams for critical suppliers

- Collaboration with functional organizations to effectively manage and drive improvements that align with internal and external KPI/Metric expectations

- Ensures supplier compliance with all elements of the Purchase Orders

- Evaluating and coordinating the resolution of production problems related to engineering, manufacturing, design, quality and materials

- Conferring with Design, Quality, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to provide and obtain technical solutions

- Functions as supplier Change Board interface for all anticipated, proposed, and released changes

- Creates strategic value by understanding business processes and organizational interdependencies, analyzing wastes and championing collaborative affordability and performance improvements

- Leads critical supplier solicitations for proposals, review of proposals, sourcing decisions, and supports supplier negotiations

- Engages management, employees, and suppliers in using continuous improvement behaviors and systems to drive bottom line business results

- Identified improvement projects for the Global Supply Chain and Supplier Performance Management functions as they align to the N&OS business unit strategies and goals

- Training, mentoring and developing small team of professionals in support of the above responsibilities

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in supply chain/business management/ contracts/ program management, operations and/or closely related experience; OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience as discussed above.

  • 3+ years of experience as a team lead and/or management of people

  • Willingness to travel ~50% to NG Sites or Suppliers primarily on the east coast

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM or relevant industry experience

  • Masters Degree in a Business or Technical field

  • Experience in Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities

  • Experience in major subcontractor management across different contract types

  • Experience in proposal and estimation work

Salary Range: $114,100.00 - $179,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
