Summary of Job Duties:

The Program Manager will be responsible for managing individual faculty research projects and various college-wide research processes developed through the office of the Associate Dean for Research (ADR) within the College of Nursing (CON). The Program Manager will specifically be responsible for management and coordination of post-award duties such as project implementation, project reporting and regulatory compliance. Daily responsibilities will include project management in support of multiple CON faculty members and liaising with partners and colleagues across CON and within UAMS, as well as external collaborators. The position will provide post-award grants management support for internal and external funding mechanisms including support for budget management and some data collection duties. This position will complete other duties as assigned by the Research Program Manager or the Associate Dean for Research.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of project/program management experience required.

  • UAMS Certified Research Specialist, must obtain within 1 year of employment.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop timelines and implementation plans for study start-up activities for multiple faculty members

  • Manage and schedule meetings with internal and external collaborators for faculty projects

  • Collaborate with OSPAN and the CON Business Office to provide post-award budget management

  • Track and manage expenses for individual faculty members.

  • Create templates for budget management and process supply orders as needed.

  • Manage post-award internal and external progress reporting in coordination with individual CON faculty Principal Investigators (PIs)

  • Oversee faculty project timelines and collaborate with faculty to ensure that funding requirements are being met

  • Provide oversight for the development and maintenance of grants and metrics internal tracking

  • Build and/or manage data collection databases (e.g. REDCap) and participate in data collection activities on an as-needed basis for CON faculty PIs;

  • Administer surveys, interview participants, and collect focus group data.

  • Collaborate with the Research Program Manager to maintain effective tracking systems for research-related products, grants, and other services offered through the ADR Office.

  • Participate in ADR Office research committees as needed (e.g. Biostatistics Committee, OPSAN Committee) and attend all Nursing Science Department meetings and all ADR Office staff meetings.

  • Develop SOPs for various processes established by the ADR Office.

  • Create content for the Research Program pages of the CON website.

  • Meet regularly with CON faculty, research assistants, and student research assistants.

  • Create agendas, and minutes, and manage subsequent action items from each meeting.

  • Provide training and guidance to CON faculty and CON research staff on developing and maintaining adequate regulatory documents (e.g., consent forms, case report forms, enrollment logs, etc.).

  • Manage submissions and revisions to the UAMS IRB in coordination with CON faculty PIs.

  • Guide CON faculty PIs through the process of completing various internal reviews prior to or at the beginning of study start-up (e.g., NICE reviews).

  • Liaise with the UAMS IRB and other regulatory offices at UAMS as needed.

  • Assist ADR in developing new initiatives, e.g. Faculty Mentoring Program, Faculty Research Profiles, Research Training Program, etc.

  • Coordinate (in collaboration with ADR staff) periodic research training events such as external guest speakers and department-wide research retreats.

  • Assist with administrative duties (e.g., scheduling meetings, and developing presentations and documents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Salary Information:
