About the Role

Reporting to the APAC Strategy Director, the strategic program manager role will be responsible for strategy formulation and execution in China. You will contribute to the identification and realization of attractive growth opportunities in the scientific, technology and medical research sectors in China. Working with cross-functional stakeholders in China and globally, you will program manage the planning and execution of key projects to increase the adoption, usage and influence of Elsevier’s digital data and tools in the scientific research community in China.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Elsevier’s China business strategy development and go-to-market planning working with the Elsevier Greater China Management Team incl. assessing changes in customer needs and new market opportunities
  • Work with commercial teams to assess and develop new products and service innovations and commercial partnerships
  • Lead and program manage strategic initiatives to strengthen Elsevier’s competitive position in China.
  • Define the overall approach to increase adoption, usage and influence of Elsevier’s data and tools. Track and review progress and performance to identify improvement opportunities and synergies
  • Ensure successful execution of key projects by coordinating efforts across multiple functions and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Management consulting and strategy planning experience in big four, MBB or in-house corporate strategy functions
  • Strong project management expertise with experience managing complex projects/ programs in a cross functional global matrix organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work across a highly matrixed organization, interacting, influencing, negotiating effectively with all levels of leadership and peers.
  • Speak fluent Mandarin & English
