Walmart Claim Services (WCS) is looking for a talented Staff Data Scientist to support our team of over 550 professional who operate like an internal insurance company, managing claims for our associates and customers across the nation.

About Us:

WCS works closely with our Legal, Safety, & Finance partner and external vendors to provide data insights for informed, data-driven decisions. Our data science and analytics team consist of talented group of data specialists who manage data, develop statistical, machine learning, NLP, Gen AI models/ solutions, and maintain reporting tools, ensuring we remain a world-class business.

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will utilize your expertise in data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, and NLP techniques to drive strategic decisions for WCS. You will be at the forefront of implementing models and strategies using A/B testing or Design of Experiments (DOE), tracking business performance, and providing insightful visualizations to support and continuously improve WCS business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and Deploy innovative Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Gen AI, and Graph Neural Network (GNN) models using Python/GCP or other modeling tools.
  • Design and conduct A/B Testing and multivariate experiments (DOE), tracking results to provide actionable recommendations to business partners.
  • Develop clear, concise, and powerful data visualizations using BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Utilize SQL, Python, Google Cloud, MLOps, Tableau, Power BI, R or SAS to prepare data for analysis, modeling, deployment, and reporting.
  • Identify business process gaps and devise analytical solutions to address them.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field. Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
