The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking an experienced Manager, Financial Reporting with 2+ years working with a Big 4 Firm to join our Finance team. This position will report to the Director, Financial Reporting & Planning and will play a key role in periodic financial reporting, technical accounting matters, consolidation, and process improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Review and prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Investigate, research, and analyze information for the financial statements and MD&A

  • Support month-end and year-end close process

  • Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.

  • Review and prepare all government entities required filings and reporting.

  • Analyze, prepare, and account for acquisitions, business combinations and transaction costs.

  • Responsible for accounting related to acquisitions including chart of accounts mapping and initial JEs for new acquisitions.

  • Provide financial reporting guidance and training on relevant systems and processes.

  • Accountable for the ongoing evaluation of financial systems, related to data management and information reporting.

  • Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls and suggesting improvements.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field with Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation.

  • Experience: 5+ years’ financial accounting experience in financial reporting. 2+ years’ management level experience in either a Big 4 Firm or Midsize Firm is preferred.

  • Experience with Workday would be an asset.

  • Foundational knowledge and experience using accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE).

  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and desire for accuracy in work.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Ability to manage and coach staff responsibilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
