What we need 

We are looking for an Advanced Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team. Your job will be to maintain and build on our data warehouse and analytics environment in a scalable way. This is a fast-paced high-impact software role with tangible and meaningful results in the ‘real world’ of robotics and supply chain automation. Your ability to grow, mentor and shape a team of individuals with a focus on quality and value will help our team achieve its goal.  

 

What we do 

The Data and Analytics team is part of the Core System Software organization and is all things data for Symbotic, from ingestion to presentation and smart analytics. We are a highly skilled cross functional collaborative team that collects, analyzes, and visualizes data to drive innovation across the company using the latest tools and technologies. One of our many goals is to bring leading visualizations for our customers to assist in understanding the capabilities of their system today and beyond.  

 

What you’ll do 

  • Design and build data models based on analytics/reporting requirements and data sources mappings. Using advances analytics products like Qlik, Tableau, or similar products, develop programs or code to visualize data and provide insights based on the complex transformation specs and mapping. 

  • Technical thought leadership supporting advanced analytical tools QlikView, Tableau, Power BI, and Report concepts as applied to BI data analytics, reporting and dashboard projects. 

  • Works closely with business partners to implement system projects including the development of plans, management of resources and deliverables. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve data and reports related issues. Apply advanced problem-solving. techniques to troubleshoot system and user issues. 

  • Provide level of effort estimates for new project work, enhancements and fixes to manager. 

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical degree. 

  • 5+ years Business Intelligence and Analytics experience with BI Interactive Dashboards, Qlikview, Tableau, NoSQL and Big Data. 

  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing fundamentals, experience with large databases/data warehouses in a team environment. 

  • Good working knowledge of and experience with logical and physical database design principles and procedures. 

  • Strong experience in the Analysis, design, development, testing and Implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using Data Warehouse/Data Mart Design, ETL, BI, Client/Server applications. 

  • Experience in various phases of Software Development life cycle (Analysis, Requirements gathering, Designing) with expertise in writing/documenting Technical Design Document (TDD), Functional Specification Document (FSD), Test Plans, GAP Analysis and Source to Target mapping documents. 

  • Excellent pattern recognition and predictive modeling skills. 

  • Implemented projects in various project life cycle and SDLC methodologies – Agile, Waterfall. 

  • Knowledge of Python, Scala and open source data tools a plus. 

  • Proficient in version control tools such as GIT, GitLab and GitHub. 

  • Prefer knowledge and experience of wholesale and/or retail industry; understanding procurement, merchandising, financial, warehouse and retail systems a plus. 

 

Our Environment 

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
