Job Summary

The Operations Manager at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport will be responsible for taking ownership of all customer accounts, maintaining, and growing them to their full potential. Duties will vary from assisting with customer inquiries, managing employees, and maintaining long-term customer relationships. Will work with the supervisors to maintain the facilities and compliance of all task and training. The Operations Manager is always looking for ways to engage their employees and make the workplace more effective and efficient. They need excellent leadership skills, social skills, and knowledge of actively listening.

Available Shifts:

  • 1st: 6:00am - 2:30pm
  • 2nd: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
  • 3rd: 10:00pm - 6:30am

Essential Functions

  • Ensure proper staffing to meet client needs.
  • Ensure all supplies, materials, and work performed meet the quality & budgetary standards set by the company.
  • Maintain the operating condition and security of all tools and equipment owned, leased, or rented by the company and under his/her control.
  • Maintain accurate and complete inventory of company materials, supplies, equipment and tools under his/her control and necessary for efficient job related operations.
  • Conduct inspections as necessary to ensure company quality standards are maintained.
  • Evaluate the performance of those employees reporting to him/her based on the standards of performance included in the position description, and discuss the evaluation with the employee.
  • Conducts regular training sessions for employees on job procedures and safety.
  • Conduct regular meetings with field Supervisors, Leads to review ongoing work, procedures, problems, etc.
  • Attend all training and or meetings given by Flagship Airport leadership team.
  • Meet with the customer, in person or by telephone, on a regular basis to ensure the customer's needs are being met, and to solicit additional work outside the contract.
  • Oversee all janitorial operations
  • Managing supervisors who oversee the staff
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of all customer accounts
  • Managing job starts
  • Managing safety program
  • Managing operations budget

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to lead others and motivate people.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Kronos timekeeper, tablet and cellphone applications.
  • Able to work independently or with little or no supervision.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree Operations Management, Business Management or Statistics or equivalent.
  • Five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the janitorial/facilities field.

  • Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 40 lbs. of office and facilities equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
