Johnson Controls’ Wichita operation designs, builds and distributes around one million pieces of residential heating and cooling equipment every year. Johnson Controls Wichita builds and assembles some of the biggest HVAC brands in the industry, including York, Luxaire, Coleman, Champion and Guardian.

The primary manufacturing campus sits on 63 acres with a total of 1.3 million square feet. It has also translated into large employment growth in Wichita, where its workforce is around 950 employees. The Wichita manufacturing facility is the largest non-aircraft manufacturing plant in Wichita.

What you will do

The Fulfillment Supervisor manages the day-to-day relationships with Suppliers and ensures that all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters are confirmed and maintained. This role also involves overseeing safety stock levels and leading the Fulfillment and Buyer Analysts team to ensure efficient operations and fulfillment processes. Additionally, the Fulfillment Supervisor oversees communication between Suppliers and the Transportation team and follows up on daily deliveries to ensure uninterrupted production.

How you will do it

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key Suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.

  • Conduct regular meetings with Suppliers to review performance, address issues and drive continuous improvement.

  • Communicate supply chain needs and expectations effectively to Suppliers.

MRP Management:

  • Confirm and maintain MRP parameters to ensure accurate inventory management.

  • Analyze and adjust inventory requirements based on demand forecasts and production schedules.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain process.

Safety Stock Management:

  • Monitor and maintain appropriate safety stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking.

  • Implement strategies to manage safety stock based on historical data and market trends.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of Fulfillment and Buyer Analysts providing guidance and training as needed.

  • Set performance goals for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovative problem-solving.

Transportation Follow-up:

  • Oversee communication between Suppliers and the Transportation team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.

  • Monitor and follow up on daily deliveries to identify and resolve any issues affecting production.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction within the Fulfillment function.

  • Implement best practices for inventory management and supplier engagement.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present reports on fulfillment metrics, supplier performance and inventory levels to senior management.

  • Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making and drive improvements in fulfillment operations.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field and a minimum of six (6) years of Fulfillment / Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of Fulfillment / Material Planning experience in a manufacturing environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Supplier Relationship Management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience using SAP and MRP systems.

  • Knowledge of Inventory Management practices.

  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Proficient in data analysis and using reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience using LeanDNA or similar inventory optimization software.
