Position Highlights:

Position: Patient Care Technician / CNA

Unit: Orthopedic Unit- Inpatient

Location: Main Hospital, Arlington Heights IL

Hours: Evenings 3pm-1130pm

Shift: Evening shift

Per diem Requirements: must be able to work at least 48 hours every 6 weeks, including 12 hours of weekend time. Must be able to work some holidays.

Status: Per diem level I

What you will need:

  • The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of high school.  Candidates who are part of a CNA apprenticeship program will also be considered.  Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  •  Completion of an accredited CNA course and the successful completion of the CNA certification exam, EMT or paramedics training course, current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of at least one major clinical medical or surgical rotation required.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

General Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Manager or designee, with accountability to the care team, provides basic nursing and personal care to patients as delegated by and under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practicing Nurse. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age(s) of the patients served on the assigned unit.
