Job Description:

• Take ownership of assigned projects and/or models/tools.
• Raise issues and propose suggestions as appropriate.

• Demonstrate basic understanding and working knowledge of internal data sources.
• Demonstrate fundamental understanding of intradepartmental products, programs, processes and policies; research problems and issues.
• Demonstrate fundamental understanding of regulatory compliance issues.
• Work with supervisor to develop fundamental understanding of specific risks.
• Compile filing data.
• Prepare and submit necessary exhibits for regulatory filings.
• Reserve Analysis- Provide technical support in the analysis of reserve levels. Planning & Forecasting
• Provide technical support for planning, forecasting and reporting process. Pricing, Trend & Benefit Design
• Support pricing and trend analysis function.
• Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems.
• Demonstrate spread sheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications.
• Support development and implementation of appropriate tools and models. Support maintenance and development of enhancements to processes, tools, and make suggestions to maximize efficiency.
• Participate in development and finalization of business requirements and/or specifications for processes, tools, and systems.
• Participate in testing of changes to processes, tools, and systems.
• Participate in multi-functional workgroups.
• Respond to routine inquiries from internal constituents in a clear and professional manner.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation of tools and processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or closely related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Medicare Advantage, ACO, MSSP, ACO REACH
  • Healthcare Economics
  • Pricing
  • Reserving
  • Forecasting
  • Data Analytics
• Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, grounded in epidemiology, biostatistics, econometrics, health informatics, healthcare analytics or related field.
• Strong SQL, SAS, Python, or R skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct nuanced analyses to produce accurate and unbiased results and tell the story of those results in data visualizations and reports.
• Deep knowledge of standard methods for measuring health care utilization, spending, quality, and outcomes; risk adjustment; provider profiling; and related analytical tasks.
• Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
• Ability to work independently and in team environment
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment where client satisfaction is key

Preferred Qualifications:

• Attainment, or close to the attainment, of Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
• Experience with VRDC (CMS 100% Research Identifiable Files RIF) and/or LDS (5% Sample Data)
• Prior experience in value-based care settings.
• Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point software

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
