We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to help build and scale the core backend systems of our Data FinOps platform. In this role, you will design and deliver highly reliable, scalable, and cloud‑native services that power data‑intensive workloads and customer‑facing insights.

You will work closely with data engineers, frontend engineers, and product teams, and play a key role in technical design, code quality, and mentoring across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable, high‑performance backend services and APIs for a data‑driven SaaS platform.

• Own and evolve backend architecture with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Build cloud‑native solutions leveraging AWS, GCP, or Azure, and contribute to infrastructure and platform optimization.

• Partner with data engineering and frontend teams to ensure seamless data flow and system integration.

• Champion engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, and observability.

• Participate actively in design discussions and code reviews, raising the overall quality bar.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

• Stay current with modern backend, cloud, and data‑engineering trends and apply them pragmatically.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable, production‑grade systems.

• Strong proficiency in Python (experience with Java, Go, or Node.js is a plus).

• Hands‑on experience designing and building RESTful APIs using frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.

• Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud‑native services.

• Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data platforms/warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized workloads.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.

• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑moving environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience building data‑intensive or analytics‑heavy platforms.

• Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and backend systems.
