Our teams use data and analytics to identify customers’ needs and safely provide insights, contact journeys and innovative solutions to deliver world-class experiences. We’re part of the Risk Data Analytics and Insights crew within Risk Tech. Our team provide data provisioning service to enable L2 Risk Reporting across Institutional Banking & Markets (IBM) and Business Banking (BB) customers.

You’ll be performing data analysis, data profiling and identify data patterns.  Decode the SQL and create the rules in the cloud platform for risk profile. Elicit requirements from key stakeholders, including senior management, using a variety of methods, including facilitation of workshops, to capture business requirements and documentation.

In this role

You will utilise advanced data analysis techniques, coupled with domain knowledge, to provision data from a variety of sources to address project requirements and improve business performance.

Other duties will include:

  • Eliciting requirements from key stakeholders, including senior management, using a variety of methods, including facilitation of workshops, to capture business requirements

  • Partnering with senior business stakeholders to identify impacts to business processes, and make informed recommendations

  • Understanding overall business requirements and raise issues or concerns that would impact business objective and recommends actions

  • Ensuring attributes of data, relationships between data elements and sources of data are defined and mapped

  • Provide SQL logic to the team for development

  • Utilising technical, subject matter and domain expertise, ensuring solution recommendations are aligned with overall Group enterprise architecture

  • Contribute towards high quality Metadata using Data Catalog tools

  • Recommend opportunities for continuous improvement of tools, processes and methodologies

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • Advanced SQL and Excel skills

  • Adept in Teradata Group Data Warehouse, Cloudera Hadoop Big Data (Omnia) platforms, Datastage and various ETL frameworks

  • Knowledge of messaging platform like Kafka

  • Knowledge of AWS Native Services: AWS services: AWS Glue/ DataCatalog, AWS CloudFormation, EMR, Redshift, Data Zone, Lake Formation, S3/Athena, Airflow, Terraform, AWS DevOps, Automation, CICD

  • Exposure to cloud-based data warehousing

  • Experience with data sources, data extraction, data cleansing and ingestion within a large complex organisation

  • A passion to ensure attributes of data, relationships between data elements and sources of data are defined and mapped

  • A deep understanding of the variations in data flows for financial transaction

  • Experience working within finance and risk would be an advantage

  • Experience & adaptability in Engineering, Data Design and/or Quality assurance space would be highly desirable
