Job Description

The Opportunity

The College of Business (COB) is seeking an experienced and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Dean’s office with a blend of Budget Management, Academic Support, and Administrative Assistance. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing business, administrative and academic support to the Dean’s office. Scheduling responsibilities include scheduling/coordination of meetings for the College Leadership Team, while academic support includes such responsibilities as course scheduling, faculty clearances, course outlines, academic integrity violations and syllabi. The position collects monthly data and provides that information to the Leadership Team. While the Administrative Support Specialist, is integral in budgeting and administrative support, this role does not encompass academic decision-making or strategic planning, which are reserved for academic leadership roles such as the Senior Associate Dean and Department Chair. Lastly, the position is responsible for managing and reporting on the College budget.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline

Required Qualifications:

  • A complete understanding of Microsoft Suite products
  • 2-3 years of previous business experience
  • 1-2 years of budgeting experience 
  • Dynamic team player who values collaboration and solution-focused approaches
  • Strong listening skills, an open and positive mindset
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapid changes
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to welcome constructive feedback and are committed to continuous improvement and personal growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An understanding of learning management systems (specifically Canvas)
