General Description:

The Epic Credentialed Trainer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of the Epic EHR system within OU Health.  This position requires a deep understanding of the Epic EHR application, excellent communication skills and a passion for training and educating healthcare professionals.  The Credentialed Trainer will collaborate with various departments, Epic Principal Trainers and the Epic application teams to deliver effective training programs that empower staff to effectively utilize Epic in their daily workflows.   

Essential Responsibilities:  Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position.  Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. 

  • Deliver and facilitate interactive training sessions for clinical and administrative staff on the functionality and usage of Epic.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest updates and enhancements to Epic and ensure that training content reflects these changes.
  • Learns application specific content
  • Administers end user proficiency assessments
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other team members to create training materials, user guides and resources tailored to different roles and departments
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance and feedback to track progress and ensure compliance with program standards
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and trainees to continuously improve training programs and materials
  • Assist during go-live events and provide on-site support to users as needed
  • Serves as an expert educator to internal staff and supporting personalization labs for all users
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in related field and at least 1 year of applicable IT or clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Four years of experience will be considered equivalent to a Bachelor's degree. 

    

Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required:  

Specific Epic module credentialing required within 3 months of hire.

  • Demonstrated flexibility with respect to required changes in training content and delivery methods
  • Ability to work without close supervision, taking ownership of work activities and ensuring training sessions and supporting materials meet standards
  • The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner
  • The ability to communicate information clearly and concisely when speaking and in writing
  • The enthusiasm to put forth extra effort when required, including demonstrating determination when faced with obstacles and adversity
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work.
