This role is a part of the Test Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of test engineers, you will help test Blue Origin’s rocket engines including the BE-3PM (Propulsion Module for New Shepard) the BE-3U (Upper Stage for New Glenn), the BE-7 (Lunar Lander) and the BE-4 (New Glenn and External Customer first stage engine). You will directly contribute to test operations by assisting with test planning and execution, risk identification and mitigation, hardware integration for test campaigns, pre and post-test inspections, data review and performance analysis. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable operations.

Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee’s additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance.  Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee’s ability to permanently relocate to Van Horn, TX, or travel to Van Horn from another Blue location a minimum of 50% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

· B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

· Experience in a testing environment

· Experience in executing test procedures

· Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis

· Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently

· Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics

· Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements and engineering drawings

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion

· Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

· M.S. or Ph.D., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with experimental lab experience

· Rocketry experience through internships or club activities

· Cryogenic experience

· Steam Generation or Vacuum system experience

· Experience designing, fabricating or operating fluid systems

· Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples, silicon diodes, resistance temperature detectors and accelerometers

· Operational understanding of rocket engines and engine sub-components, such as turbopumps, combustion devices, valves and other fluid components

· Hands-on experience with integrating test articles and sub-assemblies for test

· Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, Winplot, or other control/data acquisition and reduction software

· Familiarity with CAD applications (Creo preferred
