Job Description:

In the Research division of Hitachi Energy, we are looking for an intern, currently pursuing their Bachelor's degree, to join our "Grid Management and Optimization" team in Mannheim, Germany.

We are offering an internship in a diverse and dynamic environment to work on challenging real-world data science problems in the field of power systems.

Your responsibilities

• Literature review on voltage source converter stability
• Development of a small hybrid AC-DC test grid
• Exploration of an existing MATLAB based small-signal stability tool
• Simulation of different operating conditions which result in stable and unstable operation

Your background

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related program.
• Matlab and/or Python programming skills
• Domain knowledge in power converters, preferably HVDC, is desired
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Fluent English
