Position Summary

Starting Pay:  Based on experience

Hours - 3:30pm-12:00am (2nd shift)

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all associated conveyor equipment.  Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on conveyors and balers and powered industrial equipment. Responsibilities also include knowledge in preventative maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guidelines, work request documentation, spare parts procurement, and inventory control.

QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCIES):

Education/Experience: Minimum of four years’ experience in a General Maintenance position with demonstrated proficiency and expertise in conveyor maintenance or four years’ experience in conveyor maintenance and repair. Experience in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic conveyor system repair. Experience in programmable logic control repair and diagnostics. Experience in AC/DC arc welding and gas welding/cutting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform all tasks in accordance with all OSHA and Facility guidelines.
  • Maintain and repair all mechanical aspects of fixed material handling conveying and distribution processing equipment.
  • Maintain and repair all peripheral equipment and supporting devices associated with fixed conveying and distribution processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions and failures in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure optimum equipment performance through maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks that are in accordance with the original manufacture’s (OEM) specifications and guidelines or appropriate facsimile thereof, unless otherwise specified by management.
  • Maintain accuracy and appropriate inventory levels for all associated equipment spare parts, hardware, and specialty tools.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret technical reference manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical/pneumatic schematics, and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Perform other duties as required by Supervision/Management.
  • Overtime demands- seasonal and heavy promotional times require overtime regularly, up to and including weekends.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Fork truck repair, snow removal, custodial duties and PIT battery changes.
  • Construction/repair employing AC/DC arc, Mig/Tig and gas welding.
  • Greet vendors/contractors at Lobby areas and escort to Facility Services shop or location where services are to be performed.
  • Prior to completion of each shift, ensure all shop tools are properly stored and the shop cleaned.
  • Complete and submit daily worksheet and work orders, describing tasks/work performed.
  • Follow appropriate guidelines in the procurement of all spare parts and tools used in the repair of existing equipment.
  • Comply with the inventory control procedures in the reordering of spare parts when stock is at the minimum level.
  • Ensure all blueprints, equipment manuals, and other documentation are kept current and safeguarded for the Facility Services Library.
  • Ability to cross-train and perform to standard in various functions as required by Management.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and count accurately.
  • Knowledge of mathematics and elementary algebraic equations.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work safely with and around 24 Volt, 110 Volts and 480 Volt electrical systems.
  • Ability to work safely with and around operating mechanical systems.
  • Ability to operate and be certified as an operator of power jacks, fork trucks, and other power equipment as needed.
  • Read, comprehend and interpret technical reference manuals, wiring diagrams
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems.
  • Ability to be trained in Lock-out Tag-out procedures as an “Authorized” user.
  • Physical Demands: This position has a (0-33%) lifting requirement up to 75lbs. Other physical activities include frequent bending/reaching/stooping; (34-66%); frequent walking, standing, climbing (34-66%).
  • Work Environment: Warehouse environment, which includes seasonal temperature changes, rolling equipment, and conveyors.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $31.72

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
