The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Capture Manager to support the business development and capture activities of our Cloud and Data Center Practice Area at our Leidos Headquarters in Reston, VA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is focused on the qualification and capture of identified opportunities within the practice area customer base (both internal and external), enabling Leidos to improve its new business awards and reach into customers. The opportunities relevant to the capture manager will be those related to the Cloud and Data Center Practice Area and its repeatable offerings. This position will follow the Leidos Win Plan process to execute successfully on the assigned capture and increasing the probability of win.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
No initial clearance is required to start; however, you must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Provide capture management as a “sell with” capture manager, collaborating and partnering with Leidos sectors to integrate Practice Area capabilities, methodologies, best practices, and repeatable offerings to the successful capture of Cloud and Data Center new business and on contract growth opportunities.
•Lead capture management where the Practice Area is directly accountable for Cloud and Data Center opportunities, following the Leidos capture process, and developing strong customer relationships, industry partnerships and technical/price solutions targeted toward a higher Probability of Win.
•Perform market research to assigned captures by performing an analysis of customer budget and buying patterns, customer needs/capability requirements, customer preferences, competitive landscape, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses
•Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.
•Lead capture activities, to include strategy workshops, opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, partnership sessions, proposal reviews. Shape opportunities to increase win probability.
•Interact routinely with all levels of Leidos leadership, infrastructure POCs, technical and program staff, as needed.
•Brief capture status to senior management at specified milestones in the capture process when material changes occur and as needed.
•Conduct after action reviews for all business opportunity capture participants to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree, preferred in related technical field, and 15+ years in a Business Development or a Capture Manager position; OR master’s degree and 13+ years of same relevant experience.
•Proven track record of successful capture management at a variety of acquisition sizes.
•Demonstrated access to key government customers and industry partners.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
•Excellent knowledge of pricing strategies, pricing levers and “competimate” strategies are essential.
•Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans.
•Skills to successfully lead a diverse capture team.
•Prior experience supporting business development and capture efforts for civil agencies.
•Self-starter and ability to manage time independently without direct supervision.
PREFERRED QUALFICATIONS:
•A technical degree is highly desired.
•Strong, respected relationships within the federal digital modernization community.
•Ability to work with and gain internal support; present a compelling story to gain management support; operate with limited supervision and feedback; and establish a solid working relationship with business area technical staff, business area managers, and peers across Leidos is essential.
