What is the role?

You will work as a Player Recruitment Analyst within the Recruitment Analysis department at Sport Republic, based at Southampton Football Club’s Training Ground, supporting the work across both Southampton and Valenciennes.

This role is based on students undertaking a sports science or performance analysis related degree at Master’s level that permits a placement year and is to be line managed by the Head of Recruitment Analysis.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who can be part of a multi-disciplinary team of people, be proactive and innovative in their approach and communicate effectively at all levels.

This placement MUST form part of the overall degree programme in order for you to be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be aiding in the production of player videos and dossiers on target/recommended players to a high standard in line with department processes. With the use of data, video and general information, you will assist key stake holders to make effective recruitment decisions.

Analysing match footage in line with the club’s position specific criteria and helping to create and maintain a vast video library of players of interest to the football club. While keeping the databases critical to the player identification process up to date.

Opportunities to gain experience with live/video scouting and report writing across the 2025/26 season.

Essential Experience:

• Must be undertaking a Master’s level degree in a performance analysis/sports science related degree that requires a placement year.
• Must have an understanding of the role of performance analysis either through academic qualifications or experience.

Desirable Experience:

• Prior experience in the provision of performance analysis support
• Basic knowledge and experience of data and video analysis systems and their use to improve/assess performance
• Proficient using Keynote, Excel, Word, iMovie, and PowerPoint skills
