Job Title:                           Production Line Manager

Position Overview:  

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Manufacturing Technicians and Material Handlers on highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product, in a clean-room environment. This individual will be responsible for coaching and training incoming Manufacturing Technicians to both operate and troubleshoot issues safely across a variety of technologies including linear and inline vibratory feeder systems and robotic automation. In addition to equipment operation and maintenance, this individual will be responsible for monitoring the product quality and performance of their assigned cells and overseeing general machine troubleshooting in the event of faults and machine stops. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be accountable for the performance of their cells and team members. This position requires strong leadership, communication skills, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a third shift position. Working hours are 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, M-F.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coach a team of manufacturing technicians and material handlers focusing on performance, behaviors, product quality, and operational efficiency. Must be available for ad-hoc employee relations issues on a 24/7 basis, as needed.
  • Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company’s plans and vision.
  • Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks.
  • Document and report status of team and operational performance
  • Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching. Responsible for delivering mid-year and annual performance reviews.
  • Maintain timekeeping for all employees including vacation and LOA.
  • Ensure technicians adhere to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for solutions.
  • Ensure the use of consistent processes and procedures to support efficient operations and enhance product quality.
  • Ensure timely training completion by employees.
  • Train and mentor technicians on the manufacturing processes, equipment, general mechanical skills and safe work environment.
  • Utilize human machine interfaces (HMIs) to operate and identify specific areas of the cell.
  • Ensures adequate supply of raw materials and process aids to operate efficiently.
  • Executes equipment inspections and generates emergency, corrective, or preventative work orders as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues or general operating inefficiencies within the production processes.
  • Interface directly with cross-functional departments to help drive quality and operational improvements.
  • Able to utilize computer systems to support material inventory and quality management processes.
  • Safely follow standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, material handling, record keeping. and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Excellent attention to detail, good organization, and capable of working independently with minimal instruction from production manager.
  • Able to work in small groups and cross functional teams to troubleshoot issues, identify and implement collective corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing and cleanroom production.
  • Perform other duties as required in the Standard Work Agreement.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

•     Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proven experience as supervisor or relevant role

•     2 - 5 years of on-the-job manufacturing experience.

•     Must be proficient in English language to be able to read documentation, communicate, and write.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Leadership & Communication - Recognizes strengths of the technicians on their team, motivate and fosters a respectful working relationship, encourages two-way communication, and clearly communicates expectations to their team as well as provide feedback when expectations are/are not met.
  • Production & Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, measurement instruments, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for the manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Computer Skills - Basic Microsoft office skillset, specifically Excel Ability to create and distribute daily production reports via email communication.
  • Problem Solving - Recognizes problems and understands root cause analysis techniques/concepts.
  • Detail Oriented - Strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience running, debugging, and/or maintaining highly automated discrete component assembly equipment is preferred.
  • Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

  • Required to stand for at least 80% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
  • Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.
  • Required to push and pull.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently.

Additional Information:

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $68,300.00 - $102,650.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
