Role Description

FNZ require Data Engineer to join our growing team. For this role, you will have commercial experience of designing and developing SQL Databases and Data Engineering Pipelines (Extract Transform Load ETL).

This position is located within the Global Delivery Department of FNZ and has responsibilities for the development, maintenance, and support of the companies Data Warehouse capability.

The role involves the developing, maintaining and supporting the SQL Databases, Informatica ETL processes and output MI. Reporting to the Data Warehouse Team Lead, you will work as an integral part of the team, analysing requirements, designing solutions managing a team and liaising with partners.

As a Data Engineer, you will join an established team and act as a technical expert for SQL applications to perform a range of Engineering tasks and in doing so being a contributor to the design and delivery of very significant projects.

This role is primarily technical in nature and is focused on providing a long-term service so that internal and external users can create and maintain their own Management Information reports.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

• Design & development of SQL Data Warehouse and ETL routines.
• Maintenance, Support & Performance Tuning of production SQL Queries and ETL routines.
• Recommendations for improving Data Warehouse design.
• General responsibility of service provision to all of FNZ.
• Ensuring Data Warehouse is available for all recipients
• In addition, carry out a skills gap analysis to confirm the proposed data services strengths and weaknesses for the role, and document areas of development in a development plan for them.

Required Experience:

• Demonstrable experience (3+ years) of developing and maintaining a SQL and ETL processes.
• Relational database skills and Experience in Dimensional modelling, Star Schemas / Kimball
• Skilled in SQL Server expected, skilled in Informatica and MS Azure desirable.
• SQL Data Warehouse Developer experience and skilled in requirement gathering.
• Knowledge of Data Management, Data Quality, Data security and other Data Governance practices.
• Comfortable with liaising with stakeholders, to resolve issues, whilst also having a 'get up and go' attitude to work within a fast-paced dynamic environment.

• Team Player with the ability to work with all levels of the business
• Ability to critically investigate issues in a logical manner supported by a good level of technical skills particularly with Windows and SQL 
• Self-motivated
• Ability to draw conclusions from server, database, CPU and memory diagnostic information and reports
• Experience in working with colleagues in other locations
