The Finance Market Operations Lead (FMOL) reports to the LATAM Regional GFO Lead and is part of the Statutory and Corporate Services team (SCS). The FMOL in Mexico is accountable for ensuring local Country Management strategies and planning are in alignment with statutory, legal, regulatory and jurisdictional guidance. Together with a comprehensive finance community, provide finance Leadership in market to ensure Pfizer’s continued operations and manage operational matters with respect to the Legal Entities including maintaining fiduciary responsibilities in the assigned markets. 

As a Senior Manager, you will set the objectives for multiple projects in your assigned markets. Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will be substantial to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and set direction for its success.   

 Main responsibilities:

  • Signoffs on local accounting & related control activities: Month-end closing entries including GTN and accruals, Trial Balance review and approval, Revenue Recognition and SAP PC Controls assigned to GFO.

  • Approvals towards 3rd parties: Bank contracts and statutory filing sign-off

  • Financial information booking: Ensuring integrity, quality, compliance control and financial closing cycle.

  • Finance Policies and SOPs.: Ensure the issuance, update and compliance policies and procedures associated with local and corporate processes dependents; ensure monitoring and compliance with all the controls in the Matrix.

  • Treial Balance Review, recs, assets and obligations: Ensure monthly review of the Trial Balance, reconciliations monitoring, asset custody and management of obligations and report and work with the relevant areas within the market and Global Business Services teams.

  • Legal, accounting and tax compliance: Ensure full and timely compliance with legal, accounting and tax obligations. Guarantee timely reporting and addressing requirements from authorities. Coordinate needed efforts across the organization to comply with such requests.

  • Segregation of Duties: Supervise and approve execution of control for system access profiles, ensure adequate segregation of duties and periodic reviews.

  • Support other Finance Stakeholders: Review Financial Planning together with the appropriate level of financial indicators for the Company, generate plans and actions to excel in performance, support in analyzing statutory and managerial business profitability.

  • External Audit: Work with the Statutory Reporting CoE team to align local audit plan and ensure compliance with requirements, issuance of audit reports; ensure timely execution of action plans for recommendations or observations.

  • Restructuring and other projects: Ensure timely restructuring controls submission, reserve posting, reserve and pay out forecasting.

Qualifications 

 
Must-Have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance disciplines with 10+ years of experience. 

  • Strategic thinking, problem solving with good analytical thinking; and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements which enables participation in a broad spectrum of accounting/financial reporting tasks/projects.

  • Effective decision maker, strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individuals.

  •  Good computer skills including Microsoft Applications.

  • Spanish and English - professional proficiency.

Nice-to-Have 

  • Master’s Degree and relevant Healthcare experience. 

  • SAP and Oracle, or similar, experience. 

  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple levels and functions.

  • Excellent communication skills.
