YOUR NEW ROLE

The Scrum Master is a coach and leads squads to deliver outcomes through the Agile way of working. This role instils the agreed-to Agile process, helps remove impediments to progress, and fosters an environment of high performance, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

Maximize the Value being delivered by ensuring all business outcomes, epics and features are aligned to business value. Manage complex environments with high number of business outcomes, epics and features and interdependencies.

  • Responsible for coaching, supporting and mentoring scrum framework practices and Agile principles to the teams, Product owner and the organisation
  • Responsible for managing the end-to-end project delivery/execution of the initiative/s
  • Responsible for managing project finances and status updates.
  • Lead and facilitate Scrum events using Agile practices, tools and processes and create consistency of delivery practices across the teams.
  • Be the driving force and guide teams to be self-organised, promote a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and celebrate successes.
  • Gather, analyse, and present data to business stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to maximise productivity and to ensure effective backlog management.  
  • Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with Engineers and Product Owners to track status of implementation and improve requirements and vision
  • Maintain sprint flow by minimising external disturbances, manage risks or impediments and remove blockers and hurdles
  • Leaders at all levels will be expected to ensure their teams are clear, capable and motivated:
    • Clear about purpose, values, goals and plans, expectations and processes, and the boundaries of ethical decision making
    • Capable with the right talent, time, tools and skills to do their work, with leaders expected to manage resources (people, budgets, assets) and coach teams to build competence and confidence
    • Motivated by leaders who build trust, inclusive teams and a psychologically safe environment, track results, and provide clear follow-up and feedback.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Able to navigate a large complex organisation & build relationships with stakeholders using informal and formal networks
  • Shaping and delivery experience within complex environments  
  • Develops and maintains a broad perspective; understands and considers issues in the context of overall market, customer, and business strategies
  • Strong planning capabilities
  • Extensive analysis capabilities
  • Workshop and facilitation skills
  • Leadership
  • At least 5 - 10 years delivery experience, preferably with a minimum of 5 years in Banking and Financial Services
  • Experience across Agile and adaptive delivery models and mindsets
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD), Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Game
  • Leading and coaching teams of 15+ people
  • Project management

Qualification Requirements

Tertiary qualification in technology related degree
