Sr. Finance Director, Innovative Medicine France
As Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial leadership, direction and management of J&J IM in France. This includes the development, execution, management and follow up of strategies and action plans to maximize the value of our portfolio over the long term. In doing so, the Finance Director will also ensure alignment with all stakeholders to develop and implement these plans. This includes the planning of revenue, allocation of resources, optimization of working capital and the management of financial risks and opportunities. The role reports directly to the EMEA CFO for Innovative Medicine.
You will be responsible for:
Financial Planning & Review
Lead the financial planning of the business plan, updates and latest thinking. This includes detailed analysis and scenario thinking, alignment of all parties within France and EMEA and a coordination of the preparation, consolidation and review of the detailed financial plans.
Lead the periodic financial performance reviews and budget variance analysis providing an overview of performance to the French Management Board (LT) as well as EMEA including drivers of variances and insights into future impacts.
Oversee financial valuation of transformation projects and sponsor towards senior leadership.
Actively contribute to commercial decision-making processes, including pricing strategies, target setting and resource allocation, trade-offs and management of risks.
Lead the implementation of J&J transformation projects, from a finance perspective.
Business Partnering
Strong business partnership with all members of the French Leadership Team, Departmental heads, EMEA counterparts, local cross sector leadership council as well as other global functions, including Procurement, IT, Global Services, FS&T, Tax and Treasury.
Constructive challenge and looking for value creating growth opportunities.
Management and execution of business plan commitments
As a board member, sponsor strategic and operational projects/processes outside the scope of Finance
Participate and lead EMEA and cross-sector initiatives
Ensure active participation of the Finance Partners in BU Management Meetings, Brand Plans, Board Reviews & Strategic Plans.
Compliance & Operations
Take accountability for and have oversight of all Finance related activities (e.g. Tax, Treasury, Statutory Accounts, Legal Entity Accounting).
Ensure compliance with the J&J WW financial, HCBI, transparency and Business Conduct procedures and drive accountability throughout the organization.
Ensure compliance with local regulations & lead local team during audits. Manage relationship with the local Work council (CSE)
Ensure adherence to the J&J CREDO.
Manage relationships with external auditors and external service providers, e.g. actuaries, etc.
People management
Attract, develop and retain top talent.
Ensure collaboration between all finance groups (eg. Tax & Statutory CoE, FS&T, EMEA Region, Global Services, Treasury and Procurement) and be the single point of contact for the French Board and EMEA Finance.
Be an inspirational leader, who inspires people to reach their potential and have an external and customer lens, and ensures Credo Values are demonstrated in the day-to-day interactions of his or her team.
Demonstrate curiosity, ability to develop a perspective on business, influence outcomes and an agile learning attitude (test, learn and adapt).
Coach and mentor key talents in EMEA Finance, Innovative Medicine France and cross-sector Finance.
Serve as a dedicated, collaborative member of the J&J IM EMEA Finance Leadership Team, supporting initiatives to drive strong talent development, culture, efficiency, and effectiveness across the J&J IM EMEA Finance team.
Requirements:
University degree in Business/Finance/Economics with at least 10 years of relevant business experience, pharmaceutical industry know how is a plus.
MBA, CMA and/ or CPA is preferred.
Life sciences industry experience is an asset.
Experienced Leader (leading teams) and collaborating with senior management, business and functional leaders.
Proven financial, digital and analytical skills, results and performance driven.
Strong interpersonal skills, team player mentality and collaborative working style.
Excellent communication, influencing and framing skills.
