JR61920 Global Facilities Senior Project Engineer

The Global Facilities Senior Project Engineer is responsible for developing a comprehensive construction roadmap to achieve long-term Micron goals. The role will be managing and supporting Micron construction projects from inception to closeout, including project scoping, pre-planning, design, client/ contractor/ vendor coordination, construction administration, budget management, and project closeout. 


Responsibility includes managing & improving of new project planning business process. Gathering, analyzing & benchmarking Micron current manufacturing sites & construction projects, and providing accurate & timely information to project evaluation team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage new construction project planning process.
  • Establish project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with user requirements.
  • Prepare new project Space, Cost & schedule report & long-term plan reports for management review. 
  • Develop and manage initial project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and respective stakeholders to provide project updates/ reporting, address concerns and foster strong working relationships between team members. 
  • Ensure Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities are fully understood by the project team members.
  • Collect, classify, evaluate data and information used in supporting the Micron new construction project planning evaluation request.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • The candidate should possess bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from a recognized institute of higher learning.
  • Experience in Project Program management / Planning / Schedule Control is highly valued.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management. 
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Construction Project management software, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Good analytical skills with problem solving aptitude.
  • Ability to integrate, work collaboratively and pro-actively in a team environment.
  • Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Relevant professional certification in project management or construction management, like Project Management Professional (PMP) or LEED certification.

Minimum Experience & Skills:

  • 5~10 years’ experience in large scale construction projects preferably in Semiconductor Fab construction or related Facilities construction in high tech/ Pharmaceutical/ Oil & Gas industries.  
  • Demonstrable experience in the Construction or Semiconductor Project Management and/or other relevant industries is strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial understanding and experience in project cost estimate/ budgeting/ cost control.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, as well as the ability to visualize issues and communicate them clearly to others.
  • Outstanding organization, coordination, and leadership skills – ability to coordinate and motivate team members from different departments and different background.
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and pro-actively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations, permits and approval processes.
  • Effective delegation skills.
  • Strong ability in English speaking and writing
