Dow is currently seeking exceptional Undergraduate and Graduate level STEM students for Co-op opportunities in Dow Canada Operations (aka Manufacturing & Engineering) to start a work assignment during one of the upcoming terms in the next calendar year:
· Winter: start date January 2025
· Spring: start date May 2025
· Fall (autumn): start date Sept 2025
ABOUT OPERATIONS: The Operations function within Dow is comprised of four unique focus areas that translate business strategies into operations priorities and results. The focus areas are Manufacturing, Technical Expertise & Support (TES), Environmental, Health, & Safety Operations (EH&S), and Emergency Services, & Security (ES&S).
ABOUT YOU: Your job will include a broad range of responsibilities in a variety of different work settings such as chemical plant safety and environmental performance, process operation, optimization, modification, maintenance, and technology implementation. STEM Talent must use sound technical judgment to enable safe and efficient plant operations. ABOUT THE JOB: You’ll work either a 4, 8, 12 or 16-month consecutive period provided your performance is satisfactory. Additional work terms beyond the initial period are contingent upon your end of term evaluation, slot availability and school requirements.
Assignment locations include opportunities at:
· Alberta - Prentiss (near Red Deer) and Fort Saskatchewan (near Edmonton)
· Ontario - West Hill (Toronto) and St. Clair (Corunna)
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prefer students that have completed their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of academic studies.
· Active participation and leadership in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
· Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. outside of specified preference
· A preferred GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent on a 100% scale at your current Canadian based university.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Outstanding work ethic and leadership potential
· Previous co-op experience is a plus
· Enrolled in a “Engineers Canada” accredited program
· Registration as an APEGA EIT
Required Qualifications:
· Currently pursuing a STEM Degree or Other Engineering major.
· A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada without Company Sponsorship.
Contingencies:
· Reliable attendance is an expectation of every Dow employee, therefore the successful candidate must be able to provide their own accommodation and have their own reliable transportation to the plant site daily. Our plant sites are not on public transportation routes, hence: Uber, Lyft, and other similar public transportation means (Subways, Trains, Buses, etc.) are typically not available to reliably access the work location due to site security measures.
