JOB PURPOSE

As a Carrier Sales Representative at Nolan Transportation Group, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate business relationships with carriers. This role involves promoting and selling NTG's services while adhering to established policies and procedures and contributing to the achievement of company goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Utilize independent judgment and discretion to engage with carriers and expand your client base.

  • Daily outreach to carriers and follow-up on potential business opportunities.

  • Negotiate competitive rates with carriers.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with core carriers.

  • Coordinate with operations to monitor, track, and trace shipments.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly.

  • Achieve monthly margin and sales targets.

  • Maintain office organization and efficiency.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and brokers.

  • Stay informed about company activities, industry trends, and relevant regulations.

  • Complete required training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Utilize company technology to better organize your operations and sell more loads to carriers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with various levels of leadership.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting common industry documents and reports.

  • Effective communication and mediation skills with all levels of management within the company.

  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic arithmetic.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer programs

  • Ability to perform 100+ phone calls while performing necessary daily duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds. 

SCHEDULING

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

TRAVEL

Travel is limited, may need to attend conferences as needed
