Responsibilities:
The Principal Product Operations Manager position within Commerce, Growth, and Identity Operations sits at the intersection of Product, Design, Engineering, and Disney’s subscribers. The primary responsibility for this role is to prioritize and align initiatives and technical investment across product and engineering teams. This prioritization is critical to ensure the Technology team balances business impact, stakeholder management, internal dependencies and customer outcomes.
You’ll play an essential role in leading and driving execution for product initiatives along with their associated effort and spend. A typical day could include facilitation of a roadmap review, meeting with peer leaders to stack rank cross-functional initiatives, and discussions with finance to ensure business impact is appropriately accounted for.
This role will be critical to:
- Manage business initiatives on behalf of Commerce, Growth, and Identity to drive clarity around operational process and framework
- Build and foster effective working relationships with product and engineering leaders within Commerce, Growth, and Identity as well as cross-functional partners, including Design, Program Management, Business Operations, Talent Management, Finance, etc.
- Rationalize business inputs including stakeholder requirements, financial constraints, and engineering resources to determine impact
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to stack rank product initiatives across the holistic Product Management portfolio.
- Maintain a clear understanding of active and pending projects, timelines, and progress
- Plan and manage content for: 1) centralized product reporting; 2) product team agendas, meeting summaries, and action items; and 3) the Commerce, Growth, and Identity pillar informational repository in Confluence
- Develop, maintain, and execute ownership of assigned projects from concept to completion
- Implement procedures and process improvements to help internal teams run efficiently
- Serve as a point of contact and communicator on behalf of Commerce, Growth, and Identity
Qualifications:
- Bachelors with 10 years of relevant work experience or Masters with 8 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, influence, and build alignment among multiple groups and key stakeholders across Product, Design, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management
- Proficiency with core Product Management tool suites, including JIRA, Confluence, Airtable, Miro, Lucid, etc.
- Action-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced highly iterative environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, and multitask assignments effectively
- Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects while working independently and proactively with minimal supervision
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $172,300 to $231,100 per year , in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $164,500 to $220,600 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $180,200 to $241,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
