Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

This is a 12-week internship during summer 2025.

Coinbase is leading the expansion of digital assets into the financial mainstream. In this role, you will be a key member of the Policy team, at a company where disruptive technologies and unconventional thinking are the norm.

You will have an extraordinary opportunity to be on the leading edge of policy development in the cryptocurrency space, and will play an important role in advancing Coinbase’s policy strategy around the world. You will work closely with external partners,  internal business leaders,  and other internal support functions like Legal, Compliance, Comms and Marketing, to ensure alignment of our policy activities and functions. This position is fully remote.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Provide support on key deliverables, including drafting, proofreading, data compilation, and other support functions necessary to accomplish critical policy projects.
  • Draft materials for the Policy team, including short and long-form articles, talking points, social media posts, white papers, and presentation materials.
  • Conduct research that reflects the Policy team’s priorities and contributes to critical policy outcomes.
  • Distill and share the Policy team’s perspective internally on key issues.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion.
  • Interest in and knowledge of public policy, including laws, government systems, and financial regulation.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Able to think critically and come up with creative solutions.
  • Excellent project management skills as necessary to assist various different teams within the Policy group.

Nice to haves:

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in public policy work is a plus.
