Job Description

Program Overview 

The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.

We welcome a DE&I Governance and Public Policy Co-op to join our team to support the planning, coordination, and management of various projects related to the company’s external diversity council, DE&I Speaker Series, partnerships with diverse organizations, annual diversity surveys, and other diversity, equity, and inclusion focused initiatives aimed at building and maintaining an inclusive workplace environment and culture.  The position will partner closely with members of the DE&I team and key partners in the business to advance our mission of driving diversity and inclusion across our companyThe position will provide broad exposure to key diversity and inclusion efforts, insight into how they align with business goals, and an understanding of how diversity and inclusion drives positive business impact.  The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with quickly shifting priorities. The candidate will be challenged to use critical and innovative thinking and manage multiple projectsThe position will be a dual report to the Executive Director of DE&I Governance and Executive Director of DE&I Public Policy. 

 

Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Assist with and/or lead special projects spanning the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion portfolio’s multiple areas of accountability including: external diversity council, DE&I Speaker Series, partnerships with diverse organizations, DE&I reporting, and annual diversity surveys. 

  • Develops key deliverables to support meetings with the external diversity council, including, but not limited to, PowerPoint presentations, draft communications, and reports. 

  • Assist with the research and development of preparation materials (bios, talking points, and questions) for internal programming (e.g., Speaker Series, speaking engagements, etc.) 

  • Assist with planning and executing DE&I meetings and events (e.g., logistics support, project management, staffing, etc.). 

  • Provide administrative and project management support for initiatives across the enterprise, including the development, collection, and organization of metrics for those initiatives, and collecting, drafting, and analyzing feedback from key stakeholders. 

  • Track and research legislative and public policy developments at the federal, state, and local levels and how they may impact internal diversity, equity, and inclusion policies and programming. 

  • Conduct research on external DE&I partners and stakeholders to stay updated on relevant news and create materials summarizing external partner engagement and activities, legislative actions, DE&I news, and SCOTUS hearings to be shared with the team on a weekly basis. 

  • Partner with the DE&I Analytics, DE&I Communications, and DE&I Focus Area partners, including partners in workforce, community impact, supplier diversity, and tv programming focus areas to develop written case studies that help to spotlight and tell the business impact story of our programs, initiatives, and plans surrounding our DE&I efforts.  

  • Organize and manage research projects related to diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices, benchmarking, and industry trends to inform and advance the company’s DE&I strategy.  

  • Assist with diversity survey submissions to external publications. 

  • Promotes and evangelizes a culture of knowledge sharing and customer experience with our internal stakeholders. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project 

  • Strong writer highly desirable 

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently and in a highly collaborative work environment, able to work in a fast-paced corporate environment 

  • Strong project management skills, able to work on multiple projects at a time and manage priorities as needed 

  • Strong skills in the areas of collaboration, partnering, relationship-building 

  • Exceptional organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines 

  • Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management 

  • Strong interest in the telecommunications, cable, and media industries 

  • Preferred Majors: Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Community Affairs, Marketing, Political Science, Diversity & Inclusion, Ethnic Studies, or related field 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a  cooperative learning track. 

  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 23, 2024 through March 28, 2025. 

  • Available to report in-person to the work location provided above. 

  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.

Compensation

Base Pay: $23.00
